As part of our effort to modernize vocational education, the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA) has introduced an equipment lending system for school instruction. The goal is to provide schools with access to technologies they might not otherwise afford due to high costs or short usage periods. The project includes not only the delivery of physical teaching tools but also full teacher training. A great example of how effectively this service works is the story of Robotino’s journey.
Robotino Arrives in Havířov
In early December 2025, we lent out our first set of equipment in the field of mobile robotics—a Robotino educational robot—to the Secondary Technical School of Electrical Engineering in Havířov. Robotino immediately became part of classroom instruction under the guidance of teacher Mr. Pavel Urban. During handover, we conducted an introductory training session where our specialists demonstrated how to simulate and program the robot’s movement in practice.
Robotino Moves On
After a two-month loan period, we met again with Mr. Urban to evaluate the usage of the equipment. Robotino was then transferred to another school—this time to the Secondary Vocational School in Frýdek-Místek, where a team of eight vocational teachers was already waiting.
During the introductory session, teachers got hands-on with basic handling, power-on, and charging procedures. We also introduced the EduBox Robotics teaching module that accompanies the robot. Teachers found the most valuable benefit to be the practical student exercises, which simplify the integration of technology directly into the classroom.
The Value of Sharing Equipment
This lending model brings several key benefits to schools:
- Economic savings: Schools don’t need to invest in expensive equipment with limited usage.
- Administrative relief: All procurement, management, and distribution is handled by MTA.
- High efficiency: The equipment moves between schools based on real instructional needs.
- Teacher support: Each loan includes methodological guidance and complete EduBox modules with teaching scenarios.
