Switching off work mode for a while: 40 colleagues, two days, and shared moments in the Jeseníky Mountains

P1015222 | Switching off work mode for a while: 40 colleagues, two days, and shared moments in the Jeseníky Mountains

Throughout the year, we meet in briefing rooms, work on EduBoxes, coordinate with schools, manage projects, deadlines, spreadsheets, and explore fresh ideas. This time, however, we wanted to spend time together a little differently.

A group of 40 of us headed to Lipová-lázně for a two-day team-building getaway. Leaving the daily workplace rush behind, we finally had dedicated time for colleagues with whom we usually only manage a quick passing greeting during a busy workweek.

First, remembering where we are headed together

Even though we stepped away from the office for two days, we didn’t leave work behind entirely—and to be honest, we didn’t want to.

We kicked off our gathering with a strategy presentation led by our CEO, Jan Meca. Together, we reviewed where we stand today, where we aim to go next, and what lies ahead for our organization.

And then, off to explore the Jeseníky Mountains and team activities

Once the work session wrapped up, slide decks gave way to hiking boots. We set out on a scenic trek into the Jeseníky Mountains and took part in group activities that helped strengthen our bonds.

Perhaps the most valuable part of the entire retreat happened right there—not during formal presentations or structured schedules, but in genuine, everyday conversations along the trail.

Across the two days, there was plenty of room for team challenges, fun, and moments where we simply didn’t have to resolve anything and could just enjoy each other’s company.

Because Moravian-Silesian Technology Academies are, above all, about people

There were forty of us. Each of us focuses on something different, bringing unique backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas to the table. That diversity is precisely what makes our team thrive.

We returned from Lipová-lázně with far more than just group photos and miles logged on the trails. Most importantly, we came back with a deeper connection to the people with whom we build Moravian-Silesian Technology Academies every single day.
