Under the leadership of Ing. Alice AdáskováBusiness Academy Český Těšín has joined the network of schools supporting entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy (MTA). Ms. Adásková will serve as the Entrepreneurship Coordinator at the school, helping students develop key skills for their future careers. What activities does the school plan? And which skills are most important for entrepreneurship? Find out in our interview with Alice Adásková.

1. Why did you decide to focus on supporting entrepreneurship among your students?

Our school prioritizes entrepreneurship development because we want our students to be adaptable, creative, and able to respond to different situations. We strive to ensure they don’t just acquire theoretical knowledge but also develop the ability to apply it in practice. By fostering these skills, we aim to open doors to better opportunities and prepare them for success in the modern world.

2. What skills and competencies do you consider essential for developing entrepreneurship among your students?

The key skills we aim to cultivate in our students include:

• Independent thinking and decision-making – the ability to solve problems creatively.

• Teamwork – encouraging students to collaborate and find common solutions.

• Adaptability and continuous learning – helping students embrace change and seek new knowledge.

• Effective communication – from clearly presenting ideas to receiving and implementing feedback.

These competencies form the foundation of entrepreneurship, ensuring that students are equipped to navigate the challenges of both business and professional life.

3. How did your school get involved in the entrepreneurship support initiatives of MTA?

We first connected with the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy through Business Center Manager Sylva Sladečková, after receiving an invitation to participate in the CzechSkills 2024/2025 (EuroSkills 2025) competition in the Entrepreneurship and Business Development category.

As a school, we actively seek new opportunities and want to lead by example—if we expect entrepreneurship from our students, we must embody it ourselves. Although we did not participate in this year’s competition, it opened the door to a new collaboration with MTA.

4. What specific activities or programs will you organize through MTA to support entrepreneurship?

Our long-term priority is to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Thanks to our partnership with MTA, we have access to new opportunities to enhance educational programs for our students.

• Competitions, lectures, and workshops – enabling students to develop key skills, learn business fundamentals, and present their ideas to a broader audience.

• Building a network of contacts – collaborating with entrepreneurs, businesses, and organizations to provide students with practical engagement opportunities.

• Interactive meetings with successful entrepreneurs and industry experts – focusing on current trends and innovations.

• Development of student-run businesses – allowing students to simulate entrepreneurship within the school environment.

• Practical workshops with industry professionals – covering finance, marketing, and project management.

This experience will help our students better prepare for real-world challenges and business situations.

5. What are your future goals in the area of entrepreneurship support? Are there any new initiatives or approaches you plan to introduce?

Our goal is to ensure that our students gain not only knowledge but also the confidence and drive to start their own projects. We want to offer them as many opportunities as possible to gain practical experience—whether through internships they arrange themselves or collaborations with successful alumni and parents with business experience.

Additionally, we plan to focus on volunteering, as we believe that helping others contributes to personal growth. We also want to strengthen international cooperation, not only through Erasmus+ but also via direct partnerships with schools and businesses abroad.

Happy students, new projects, and the courage to face challenges—this is how we create a future full of opportunities.

6. Could you briefly introduce yourself and your role in education? How did you become a coordinator and get involved with MTA?

I see myself as a compass constantly seeking the right direction. The more paths I explore, the more experiences and opportunities I discover. This is the mindset I want to instill in our students—to never be afraid to seek their path and explore new opportunities.

However, none of this would be possible without the support of our leadership and collaboration with colleagues across the school—we all work as a team. This teamwork allowed us to join forces with MTA.

As the saying goes, “When you truly desire something, the whole universe conspires to help you achieve it.”
