Automation in Education: Schools Show Growing Interest in Modern Technologies

P1012993 | Automation in Education: Schools Show Growing Interest in Modern Technologies

At the end of May 2026, another roundtable discussion focused on automation took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB–Technical University of Ostrava. The meeting, led by Zdeněk Macháček, welcomed a total of 32 participants, including vocational teachers and industry partners.

Automation as an Increasingly Important Part of Education

During the program, the Automation team presented specific activities carried out throughout the current school year. A major focus was placed on supporting teachers through teacher cabinets and specialized workshops.

These activities clearly confirm the growing interest of schools in modernizing education and integrating new technologies into vocational subjects. Teachers are especially interested in areas such as:

  • sensor technology,
  • camera systems,
  • automation technologies,
  • and their practical application in secondary school education.

New EduBoxes and Physical Teaching Aids

An important part of the program was also the presentation of new EduBoxes on the updated platform, along with demonstrations of upcoming physical teaching aids designed for automation education.

Schools have shown long-term interest in these educational tools. Teachers particularly appreciate the possibility of connecting theory with practical demonstrations and the fast implementation of modern technologies directly into teaching.

Cooperation with Industry

The roundtable also included a presentation of camera systems by ATESystém s.r.o., led by Michal Harhaj. Participants had the opportunity to explore technologies currently used in industry and discuss their potential application within school environments.

A Shared Goal: Modern Vocational Education

The meeting once again demonstrated that cooperation between schools, experts, and companies is essential for the further development of technical education. Automation today impacts virtually every industrial sector, and schools are actively looking for ways to respond effectively to these changes.

The Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy will continue supporting teachers and developing modern educational tools in the future as well.
