AI Pilot Program: Students Exploring the Principles of Artificial Intelligence in Practice

P1013113 | AI Pilot Program: Students Exploring the Principles of Artificial Intelligence in Practice

As part of the ongoing development of EduBoxes, the Artificial Intelligence team of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy has expanded its pilot AI education program directly into secondary schools.

At the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Ostrava, first-year students had the opportunity to explore one of the fastest-growing fields of today’s world — artificial intelligence.

Three Days of Modern Technologies

The three-day workshop was led by experts Adam Březina and Pavel Pochobradský, who gradually introduced students to the fundamental principles of artificial intelligence.

The program was divided into several thematic blocks and covered topics such as:

  • the fundamentals of machine learning,
  • data vectorization,
  • the principles of large language models,
  • and the practical use of AI tools.

The goal was not only to introduce modern technologies but, above all, to help students understand the underlying principles behind these systems and how they influence today’s digital world.

Hands-On Learning Through EduBoxes

A strong emphasis was placed on practical learning. Students were able to experiment with individual concepts themselves through the ai.edubox.cz platform, where they worked with interactive Canvas activities and real-world AI use cases.

This combination of theory and practical exercises helps students gain a deeper understanding of technologies that will become an integral part of both their professional and personal lives in the future.

This project was implemented thanks to support from the TPA Project – Innovation Center for the Transformation of Education – CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000072 is implemented from the Just Transformation Operational Program (OPST) of the State Environmental Fund.
