A conference titled “E-Mobility Beyond Education” took place at the administrative center of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech s.r.o. (HMMC) in Nošovice, under the patronage and with the participation of the Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region (MSK), Mgr. Stanislav Folwarczny. The panel discussion included representatives from the business sector, the region, and educational institutions.
The importance of innovation in vocational high school education to meet the needs of the modern technological world was highlighted by Deputy Governor for Education Mgr. Stanislav Folwarczny and Mayor of Ostrava Mgr. Jan Dohnal. Both agreed on the need to intensify the connection between business and education sectors and to optimize study programs based on the actual demand and needs of employers in the MSK region.
Ing. Jan Meca, Chairman of the Board of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA), spoke about the need for innovations in vocational high school education, the challenges involved, and presented the role of MTA. In the future, there will be a growing emphasis on specialized education, particularly in the vocational sector. He noted that high schools are lagging in innovation while technological progress in companies is advancing rapidly. MTA was created to bridge this gap by connecting experts and teachers, providing modern educational tools that educators can obtain for free, including accompanying materials, and immediately implement in their teaching.
In addition to the panel discussion, Ing. Milan Zdvyhal presented a practical demonstration of an EduBox on the topic of Future Mobility. Through augmented reality, a model of an electric vehicle appeared before the participants, allowing them to explore it in detail.
In the foyer, two other EduBoxes were displayed. The first, presented by Ing. Martin Kavan, complemented Ing. Zdvyhal’s presentation and focused on Future Mobility from the perspective of energy production, distribution, and consumption. The second EduBox, presented by Ing. Tomáš Húsek, centered on robotics, and participants had the opportunity to try out this educational tool firsthand.
Petr Michník, a representative of HMMC, introduced the manufacturing process and the profile of potential employees. An interesting fact from his presentation was the number of robots involved in the production at HMMC, currently totaling 385, with more to come. Thanks to this automation, HMMC produces 66 vehicles per hour. Ing. Vladislav Sobol from ČEZ also confirmed the need for innovations in vocational education. Other participants in the panel discussion included Martin Navrátil, Director of the Moravian-Silesian Employment Pact, and Jakub Štolfa from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VŠB-TUO.
This event was made possible thanks to the project TPA – Innovation Center for Education Transformation – CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000072, which allows us to continue learning and bringing innovations into our educational programs.
