On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the second meeting of the Cabinet of workshop leaders and deputy principals for practical training took place at the Secondary Polytechnic School in Havířov-Šumbark. The event followed up on the November meeting and confirmed the growing interest in systematic experience-sharing among schools in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
The meeting, jointly organized by the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy and the host school led by Principal Vladislav Walach, welcomed representatives from 22 secondary schools, with a total of 30 participants.
Shared Topics: Strategy, Cooperation, and the Future of Education
The opening joint session was led by Jan Meca, who introduced key topics related to inter-school cooperation and long-term planning. He presented the concept of a platform for sharing experience and highlighted the importance of strategic school management in the context of demographic development.
A key message was also emphasized: secondary schools must prepare for a gradual decline in student numbers, which could reach up to 20% by 2035. This makes effective planning, collaboration, and resource sharing even more critical.
This session was followed by Václav Míka from SPŠOA Bruntál, who presented the concept of dual education for graduation programs and its practical benefits.
Thematic Blocks: From Investments to Artificial Intelligence
The second part of the program was divided into thematic blocks, which participants selected based on their interests. These sessions were repeated to allow all attendees to take part:
- School Investment Strategies (Jan Meca) – focused on planning and efficient use of resources
- AI in School Operations (Tomáš Gröpl, MTA / Tietoevry) – practical applications of artificial intelligence in the school environment
- Health & Safety and Legislation (Tomáš Kostka, SŠPT Havířov) – current requirements in safety and regulatory compliance
These topics reflected needs identified during the first meeting and showed that schools are actively seeking solutions to challenges affecting their daily operations.
Sharing, Discussion, and Inspiration
The event format combined joint sessions with smaller thematic groups, enabling intensive discussion, sharing of best practices, and networking among schools.
The program also included a tour of the host school’s workshops and specialized classrooms, providing participants with practical inspiration.
Next Meeting in Opava
The meeting concluded with a joint reflection and agreement on future steps. The third meeting will be hosted by the Secondary Technical School in Opava, likely to take place in November 2027.
A Shared Direction
The second Cabinet meeting confirmed that schools in the Moravian-Silesian Region are eager to collaborate, share experiences, and jointly respond to the challenges of modern education. This cooperation is key to the further development of vocational education.
The Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy will continue to support and develop these activities moving forward.
