Vocational Education is Changing

The 2024/2025 school year was a year of intensive work in the field for the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy (MTA). Our goal is the systemic and long-term transformation of vocational education — and this school year showed that we are on the right path. In collaboration with dozens of secondary schools, teachers, and companies, we have collectively advanced the teaching of vocational subjects, supported students’ entrepreneurial skills, and helped teachers tackle today’s technological challenges.

EduBoxes: Content That Drives Change!

EduBoxes have become an integral part of vocational education in secondary schools. This school year, we launched 197 EduBoxes, with another 97 in development. The greatest demand was for topics such as cybersecurity, Future Mobility, robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence.

More than 50 secondary schools across the region actively engaged with the EduBox system — a significant step toward modernizing the teaching of technical subjects and preparing students practically for the future.

Teachers: Sharing Know-How and Practical Support

Working with vocational teachers remains one of the pillars of our strategy. Over the school year, we organized 17 professional events for teachers and school leaders, attended by a total of 324 teachers from secondary schools in the Moravian-Silesian, Olomouc, and Zlín regions.

The most frequently covered topics included the previously mentioned automation, robotics, and cybersecurity. Teachers had the opportunity to work with the latest teaching tools and share best practices within the professional community.

Supporting Entrepreneurial Mindsets: Young People with Ideas

We see entrepreneurship as one of the key elements in student development — and as an answer to the need for creative, independent thinking. This past school year, our coordinators organized a wide range of workshops, inspirational lectures, excursions, and other activities to promote entrepreneurship and innovative thinking. More than 3,000 students took part in these activities. There are now school entrepreneurial centers operating in 12 schools, two of which were newly opened in 2025.

Eighteen teachers served as school coordinators, and 33 business consultants were involved in mentoring. Altogether, we organized 14 thematic days and programs focused on intensive entrepreneurial support, including CzechSkills, Business Camp, and Validation Camp.

Our Companies: Hands-On Entrepreneurship

The Our Companies project day was delivered in 11 secondary schools, with a total of 17 project days held. More than 400 students took part in the program, experiencing the creation of a business idea, budget planning, and team presentations in a simulated environment. The format combines fun with practical skills and gives students their first real insight into economic thinking.

Expert Collaboration and Securing Development

Corporate partners and professional guarantors also contributed to the development of EduBox content. In the 2024/2025 school year, we signed 5 NDA agreements, and representatives from 7 companies were directly involved in EduBox development. Collaboration with the commercial sector enables us to keep teaching relevant, practice-oriented, and attractive for both students and teachers.

Interest that Commits Us

What emerged over the past school year is proof that there is an exceptional level of interest in transforming vocational education in our region, along with a clear desire to break with outdated ways of doing things. It shows that the direction we have chosen is the right one. Quality and a focus on practical impact in education are more valuable today than ever before. The year-on-year growth in interest is not only a reward for us but also a clear signal to continue, develop new pathways, and strengthen collaborations.

We deeply value the active approach and involvement of schools, teachers, students, parents, and the wider community — we see this as a great commitment! We will continue to be a strong partner for everyone who wants to change vocational education for the better.
