On December 3, 2024, the Secondary School of Teleinformatics in Ostrava hosted an inspirational webinar titled “Be Your Own Financial Manager,” focusing on the basics of financial management and modern investment strategies. The event was designed for third-year students and was held under the auspices of a business incubator with expert guidance from members of the Mining and Geology Faculty of VŠB-TUO.

Financial Literacy in Practice

The webinar was divided into three chapters, offering students a comprehensive overview of key areas of financial management:

1. Managing Personal Finances and Passive Income:

Students learned how to effectively manage their income and expenses, build savings, and create passive income streams to ensure financial stability.

2. Trading in Mineral Commodities and Cryptocurrencies:

This section focused on current trends in commodity trading and cryptocurrency investments. Participants gained insights into how markets function and the opportunities provided by modern technologies.

3. Successful Investment Strategies:

Students were taught how to evaluate investment opportunities, minimize risks, and utilize technologies that facilitate decision-making in financial markets.

Preparing for the Future

The webinar was tailored to the needs of young people entering the financial world. The program not only expanded their awareness of critical financial topics but also motivated them to take an active interest in their financial future. Students particularly appreciated the practical examples, interactive approach, and expert guidance provided by VŠB-TUO representatives.
