A total of 11 teachers from partner schools of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy participated in a specialized training program at the prestigious HELLA Academy training center in Erwitte, Germany, from 9–11 June 2026. The three-day program focused on modern automotive technologies, particularly Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), vehicle lighting systems, and their practical calibration and adjustment.
The training provided participants with a unique opportunity to explore technologies that are increasingly shaping the safety, comfort, and future of mobility. Teachers learned about the fundamentals of driver assistance system design, including the operation of cameras, radar sensors, and blind-spot monitoring systems. An important part of the program involved the practical calibration and adjustment of these systems on various vehicle types.
A significant portion of the training was also dedicated to automotive lighting technologies. Participants explored the evolution of vehicle lighting, from traditional halogen bulbs to today’s advanced lighting systems, and practiced proper alignment using professional adjustment equipment. This enabled them to gain not only theoretical knowledge but also valuable hands-on experience with procedures that reflect current industry standards.
The final part of the training included a visit to a lighting test tunnel, where teachers were introduced to the functionality of different headlamp technologies. Under real-world conditions, they were able to observe the differences between lighting systems and better understand their impact on road safety, visibility, and driver comfort.
The program also covered topics related to electric mobility and high-voltage systems, including diagnostics, measurement techniques, and safe handling of modern vehicle technologies. As a result, participants gained a comprehensive overview of current trends in automotive engineering, combining expert knowledge with practical demonstrations.
The knowledge and experience acquired during the training will now be transferred directly into classroom teaching through EduBoxes. Students will have the opportunity to learn about modern technologies not only through theory but also through practical activities that reflect the needs of today’s labor market.
The specialized training at HELLA Academy is another example of how the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy connects schools with industry and supports the modernization of vocational education. Through collaboration with industrial partners, schools gain access to current technologies, real-world procedures, and professional expertise that help prepare young people for the future of technical careers.
