Today, we visited the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SPŠEI) in Ostrava, where the school company Prestika operates – an inspiring example of how entrepreneurship can be meaningfully developed directly within a school environment.
Real Business Experience for Students
Prestika specializes in advertising services, offering students valuable hands-on experience that goes far beyond the typical curriculum. This is not just about theoretical knowledge – students function as a professional team, participating in all aspects of the company’s operations from A to Z.
Modern Technology in Action
The company’s products are created using modern technologies, including:
- 3D printers
- Pressing equipment
- Sublimation technology
- Other tools from contemporary digital and manufacturing practice
End-to-End Project Management
Students manage the entire process independently. They actively:
- Seek out clients and communicate with customers
- Negotiate business terms
- Design and produce the products
- Handle distribution and delivery
- Manage the company’s finances and administration
Entrepreneurship Brought to Life in the School Setting
This is exactly how we envision the development of entrepreneurial skills within school business centers. Students gain direct experience from a real-world business environment and develop key competencies such as responsibility, communication, and teamwork – skills they can apply in both their future careers and everyday life.
Thank You for the Inspiration
We would like to thank the Prestika team and the leadership of SPŠEI Ostrava for giving us the opportunity to observe the operation of this inspiring school business and for showing how naturally entrepreneurship can be integrated into secondary education.
