Robotics Workshop at ABB Robotics Mošnov: When Industry Meets Education in Secondary Schools

WorkshopABB 15 | Robotics Workshop at ABB Robotics Mošnov: When Industry Meets Education in Secondary Schools

On a mission to bridge the gap between industry, universities, and secondary schools, the robotics workshop at ABB Robotics in Mošnov offered participants a unique opportunity to explore how robotics can be effectively integrated into teaching.

An Inspiring Setting with Professional Support

Participants were welcomed at ABB by Vítězslav Lukáš, the company’s director, with the entire event energetically guided by Alice Chvojková. Representing the academic field was Václav Krys, head of the EduBox Robotics team from VŠB–TUO, who provided in-depth insights into technological and educational developments in automation and robotics.

What Did the Participants Take Away?

The workshop delivered not just theoretical input but most importantly practical knowledge that is easily transferable to school environments, including:

  • The latest trends and directions in industrial robotics
  • guided tour of ABB’s state-of-the-art robotics facilities
  • Live demonstrations of industrial and educational robots in action
  • An introduction to Robotino – a mobile educational robot available for free loan to schools through the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA)

Why Are Workshops Like This So Important?

Connecting schools, universities, and industry partners is crucial to ensure that secondary education keeps pace with real labor market demands. Thanks to collaboration with ABB and VŠB–TUO, both teachers and students gain not only technical knowledge but also the motivation and inspiration to apply these technologies in real-world contexts.
