Robotics and Automation in the Classroom: Jablunkov Secondary School Opens a New Training Facility Worth Over CZK 5 Million

P1066023 | Robotics and Automation in the Classroom: Jablunkov Secondary School Opens a New Training Facility Worth Over CZK 5 Million

How can we prepare students for the technologies they will encounter in modern industry? The best way is to give them the opportunity to work with these technologies while they are still at school. This is exactly the opportunity now available to students at Jablunkov Secondary School, which has officially opened a new specialised classroom for robotics and automation. Equipped at a cost of more than CZK 5 million, the facility was developed through cooperation between the school, the Moravian-Silesian Region, and its industry partners.

The official opening took place on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, attended by Jan Veřmiřovský, Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, Daniel Cinař, Head of the Regional Department of Education, representatives of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, and companies that have established long-term partnerships with the school.

Representatives of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy were also among the guests. The Academy works closely with the school on developing educational content for EduBoxes focused on robotics.

A Classroom Designed by a Teacher – Tailored to Educational Needs Without Compromise

The development of the new classroom began with a clear vision of what modern robotics and automation education should look like.

The concept was created by Roman Kulštejn, a robotics teacher at Jablunkov Secondary School, who designed the facility and its equipment around the actual needs of technical education. As he explained during the opening ceremony, his wish to have a fully equipped, tailor-made classroom without major compromises had finally come true.

The journey from concept to completion was relatively short. The classroom was equipped and brought into operation between July and the end of September 2026.

Students Demonstrated That Modern Technology Belongs in Their Hands

The opening ceremony began with a welcome speech by Roman Szotkowski, the school’s principal, who introduced the guests and highlighted the importance of the new classroom for the future development of vocational education at the school.

Roman Kulštejn then presented the classroom concept and acknowledged the valuable contributions of the companies involved in equipping the facility.

An important part of the programme was also dedicated to student presentations, during which students introduced the projects they are currently working on.

EduBoxes Combine Teachers’ Experience with Modern Educational Content

Václav Krys, representing VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – Robotics Centre, as well as the EduBox Robotics team at the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy, also addressed the participants.

In his speech, he particularly appreciated Jablunkov Secondary School’s active involvement in developing educational content for robotics-focused EduBoxes.

Collaboration with teachers who use modern technologies in their everyday teaching is essential to the development of EduBoxes.

Teachers know best what their students need. We combine their practical experience with expert know-how and modern technologies to create educational materials that can also benefit other schools.

Jablunkov Secondary School’s involvement demonstrates that schools do not have to be merely users of new educational tools. They can also actively contribute to their development, helping create content that can subsequently be used by teachers and students at other schools.

And it is precisely this kind of experience that we want to make accessible to more schools through EduBoxes.

Would You Like to Bring Modern Technologies into Your Classroom Too?

You do not need to start by building a new specialised classroom. With the EduBox platform, schools can access ready-to-use educational materials and modern teaching equipment through our online lending service.

Choose a topic, explore the available equipment, and bring the technologies your students will encounter in real-world industry directly into your classroom.
