In June, the Our Companies project days continued with the aim of fostering entrepreneurial spirit directly among secondary school students. Our mentors visited three schools in the Moravian-Silesian Region – the Secondary Technical School in Ostrava-Vítkovice, the Secondary Medical School in Karviná, and the Secondary School of Teleinformatics in Ostrava. They guided students from various year groups through an interactive game simulating the fundamentals of entrepreneurship.
A Game That Builds Real Skills
Our Companies is not just an ordinary project day. It’s a practical simulation of the real business world that teaches students strategic decision-making, teamwork, and risk evaluation. Over the course of several hours, students experience what it’s like to develop a business plan, manage investments, define target audiences, plan marketing strategies, and work with budgets.
Original Ideas That Reflect Today’s World
Once again, students demonstrated their creativity and courage to think innovatively. Among the entrepreneurial ideas presented by student teams were:
• Production of dietary supplements for an active lifestyle
• A travel agency specializing in unique experiences
• Streetwear clothing sales for the young generation
• A healthcare startup focused on supplements and pharmaceuticals
• A music label and recording studio for emerging rap artists
• Automated lawnmowers and vacuum cleaners for households
Why Our Companies Makes Sense
This project helps students better understand what entrepreneurship entails, how ideas are formed, and what it takes to launch a business. It develops essential skills that are valuable across all professions: teamwork, responsibility, communication, and the ability to present one’s ideas.
Entrepreneurship education is a key pillar of modern vocational learning – and we are proud that through Our Companies, we can show young people that starting a business can be fun, practical, and inspiring.
