On the Road with Teachers: Inspiration from Vítkovice Secondary Technical School

P1004105 | On the Road with Teachers: Inspiration from Vítkovice Secondary Technical School

The “On the Road with Teachers” roadshow continues, and on March 3, 2026, we headed to Ostrava–Hrabůvka. At Vítkovice Secondary Technical School, we were welcomed by Principal Pytliková and her team. Together with Jan Meca, Director of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy, we had the opportunity to explore a school that has long been developing technical education in a modern context.

With more than 700 learners, the school offers a wide range of technical study programs and systematically invests in its facilities. During our visit, we saw powder-based 3D printers, the Loxone lighting control system, and mechanical engineering workshops currently undergoing renovation. It was clear that modern technologies are not just an addition here, but a natural part of everyday teaching.

However, the visit was not only about touring the facilities. A key part of the program was a meeting with teachers, during which we openly discussed how to further strengthen the connection between schools, technology, and real-world industry needs. We presented the vision and current direction of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy, as well as concrete opportunities for involvement with EduBox modules. The discussion covered not only technical topics, but also teaching methodology, teacher support, and shared infrastructure between schools.

Meetings like this confirm that meaningful change in education does not come from one-off projects, but from long-term dialogue and cooperation. Each school has its own specific needs and strengths – and by connecting them, a functional ecosystem of modern vocational education can be created.

We would like to thank the leadership and teachers of Vítkovice Secondary Technical School for their openness, inspiring discussion, and willingness to explore new paths. The “On the Road with Teachers” roadshow will continue in the coming months.
