A two-day meeting of secondary school principals from across the Moravian-Silesian Region took place in Vendryně. The event provided not only a platform for sharing experiences and strategic perspectives on the development of vocational education but also practical demonstrations of tools that help modernize the teaching of technical subjects today.
Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy as a Partner in Innovation
The Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA) took part in the event as a key driver of change in vocational secondary education. Our representatives presented the current range of EduBoxes and showcased concrete examples of how teaching can be moved closer to practical application and technological advancement. Principals had the opportunity to try out 3D scanning, headlamp manipulation, and explore the topic of Future Mobility directly on-site.
Responding to Challenges in Education
During the presentation by Jan Meca, a strong call for systemic change was made: education must respond to the declining number of students, the transformation of the labor market, and the disappearance of traditional professions. The talk emphasized the need for a strategic, community-driven approach to designing education systems, financial optimization, and sharing of best practices between schools.
EduBoxes as a Tool for Transformation
The EduBox presentation showcased not only the wide range of topics but also the practical opportunities for schools to get involved. Today, schools can access various tools free of charge for teaching purposes, including:
- Electric vehicles with RR application – for teachers with or without professional qualifications
- Rear headlamps – for hands-on teaching about wiring and headlamp system functionality
- Spatial manipulators – three devices for teaching robotics and automation
- Robotino – a mobile robot used for programming education
- Cybersecurity – EduBox with educational scenarios
- 3D scanning – a device for digital manufacturing and model verification
In addition to the tools themselves, the concept of EduBox 2.0 was also introduced, including a digital platform and application for comprehensive lesson management and school implementation.
Invitations and Upcoming Projects
The event also highlighted key future activities and projects that MTA will be involved in over the coming months. These include:
- Roundtable on Mechanical Engineering and 3D Printing – taking place on 25 September 2025, offering in-depth discussion about the future of manufacturing technologies in education.
- International VET Bridge 2025 Conference – on 22–23 October 2025, Ostrava will welcome representatives from schools, businesses, and public institutions from across Europe, offering inspiration in the fields of vocational education, employer collaboration, and digital technologies.
