On February 11, 2025, as part of the MTA Roadshow for Teachers, we visited the Secondary Medical School in Frýdek-Místek. The meeting was attended by 17 educators, who actively participated in the presentation and subsequent discussion with MTA Chairman Jan Meca. The main focus was on innovative education in healthcare and modernizing teaching methods through new technologies and interactive approaches.
Technology as the Key to Better Practical Training
During the meeting, teachers discussed the key needs of healthcare schools that could significantly enhance students’ preparation for future careers in the medical field. Some of the most promising ideas included:
• Healthcare Information Systems – Allowing students to work with digital tools that simulate real-world administrative practices in hospitals and medical facilities.
• Augmented Reality (AR) Applications – Enabling training and simulations of real-life scenarios, helping students better understand complex medical procedures.
• Interactive Patient Communication – Digital platforms designed to improve students’ communication skills, teaching them how to effectively respond to different situations in real healthcare environments.

A Shared Path to Modern Education
The meeting at SZŠ Frýdek-Místek highlighted the strong interest among medical schools in innovation and their willingness to actively participate in the modernization of healthcare education. MTA offered schools the opportunity to engage in specific activities and collaborate on enhancing vocational education, which could lead to more effective teaching methods and better-prepared graduates.
The discussion not only generated practical ideas for improving the educational process but also fostered openness to future collaborations between schools and technology partners. We believe these efforts will contribute to a more modern, dynamic, and effective approach to education, better aligned with the needs of the healthcare job market.
We sincerely thank SZŠ Frýdek-Místek for their active participation and look forward to the next steps in transforming healthcare education together!
