On February 19, 2025, as part of the MTA Roadshow: On the Road with Teachers, we visited Mendel High School in Nový Jičín, focusing on forming a specialized team for innovation in healthcare education. The meeting was attended by nearly ten specialized teachers, who engaged in discussions with Jan Meca about modernizing education, collaboration within the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy, and the effective use of EduBoxes.
EduBoxes: Innovative Tools for Modern Education
One of the key topics discussed was the sharing of EduBoxes between schools and their application in teaching. Teachers inquired whether these tools were freely accessible, which was confirmed—EduBox is designed as a global product aimed at facilitating vocational education across high schools.
The discussion also covered the various formats of EduBoxes, which can take the form of:
• Software solutions – such as specialized augmented reality (VR) applications used for simulating fundamental healthcare procedures.
• Physical teaching aids – such as interactive mannequins, which enable realistic training of medical procedures.
• VR headsets with specialized educational applications, helping students better develop practical skills in a simulated environment.
How to Train Crisis Communication with Patients?
One of the interesting topics raised during the discussion was the possibility of training crisis communication with patients. This key skill for future healthcare professionals can be effectively taught through interactive dialogues, allowing students to practice model scenarios and train appropriate responses in various crisis situations—a challenge that healthcare workers face almost daily in their profession.
A Shared Path Toward Modernizing Healthcare Education
The meeting at Mendel High School in Nový Jičín demonstrated that vocational schools have a strong interest in innovation in healthcare education. The discussion generated many valuable insights and opened opportunities for further collaboration between schools, leading to an enhanced quality of student training.
We thank all participants for their insightful discussions and look forward to collaborative projects that will elevate healthcare education to the next level.
