On Tuesday, we had another opportunity to present the work of the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy beyond the borders of our home region. This time, we headed to Olomouc – specifically to the inspiring setting of the Fort Science Centre, where a discussion on the future of technical and vocational education took place.
EduBoxes, Challenges, and Opportunities
Representing the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy were Jan Meca and Milan Zdvyhal, who focused not only on introducing the EduBoxes and their benefits for classroom teaching, but also opened up crucial topics currently shaping vocational education across the country.
Key challenges addressed included:
- the need for longer and higher-quality preparation of vocational subjects related to new technologies,
- the rapid pace of industrial innovation, which schools must adapt to flexibly,
- the importance of practical and digital tools that help align teaching with real-world operations and equip students with skills for today’s labor market.
Cross-Regional Interest in Technological Education
The interest sparked by our presentation in Olomouc clearly showed us one thing: innovation in education and its connection with real-world practice is not just a regional issue, but a national topic. Schools and institutions outside the Moravian-Silesian Region are actively seeking new ways to modernize teaching, respond to labor market shifts, and integrate technology into everyday educational practice.
Thank You for the Invitation
We would like to thank the organizers of this event – especially Roman Chvátal – for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of a meaningful conversation on education. We value every opportunity to share our experience and contribute to the discussion about what 21st-century vocational education should look like.
