The Moravian-Silesian Region has officially launched the construction of a new headquarters for the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy. The emerging center will become a key hub for the development of vocational education in the region, offering modern facilities for schools, teachers, and students in areas such as electromobility, robotics, and digital technologies.

As part of the ceremonial launch, a symbolic unveiling of a 3D model of the future building took place, led by four speakers who emphasized the significance of the entire project.

A Shared Vision for the Future of Education

The Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, Josef Bělica, highlighted that the project goes beyond construction itself:

The need for a systemic approach was also emphasized by Jiří Zajíček from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, who underlined the importance of aligning education with the real needs of the labor market.

On behalf of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy, its Chairman Jan Meca spoke about the practical impact of the new infrastructure:

The importance of cooperation among all stakeholders was further highlighted by Miroslav Janíček from OHLA ŽS, who pointed out the need for a coordinated approach in building a modern vocational education center.

Modern Facilities for Schools and Teachers

The new building will integrate educational, training, and development functions. It will include:

  • modern classrooms and laboratories for virtual and augmented reality,
  • creative workshops and specialized facilities for hands-on learning,
  • a technologically equipped development hall,
  • energy-efficient infrastructure, including heat pumps and photovoltaic systems.

The facility will serve not only as an educational center, but also as a hub for developing teaching tools and providing systematic training for educators.

EduBoxes as a Tool for Change

A key element of the concept is the EduBox educational modules, which connect theory with practice and enable schools to respond quickly to technological changes.

Deputy Governor for Education Jan Veřmiřovský noted that the combination of modern infrastructure and high-quality educational content is what elevates vocational education to a new level and creates conditions for sharing experience among teachers.

A Strategic Step for the Entire Region

The construction of the new headquarters is part of a broader regional strategy aimed at transforming education and strengthening its connection to practice.

The goal is to create an environment that enables schools to keep pace with rapid technological development and prepare students for the real demands of the labor market.

The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Just Transition Operational Programme and represents one of the key pillars in the modernization of vocational education in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

This project was implemented thanks to support from the TPA Project – Innovation Center for the Transformation of Education – CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000072 is implemented from the Just Transformation Operational Program (OPST) of the State Environmental Fund.
