The Secondary Technical School and Business Academy in Uherský Brod operates under the motto “Touch the Future”, aiming to prepare students for the real challenges of the job market. The school’s director, Rostislav Šmíd, shared its educational approach, which is built on three main pillars:
• Access: Supporting gifted students through participation in competitions, international trips, and practical projects such as candle-making or working with stainless steel materials.
• Methods: Constant improvement and innovation in teaching, such as regular “corporate councils” and collaboration with nearly 30 regional companies.
• School as a Hub: SPŠOA Uherský Brod functions not just as a school but also as a center for educating the broader community.
Openness to Collaboration
The school’s approach and the specific initiatives presented by MTA impressed Radim Holiš, Governor of the Zlín Region, and Jindra Mikuláštíková, Regional Councillor for Education. Both expressed their support for joint projects that could strengthen education across the region, with Governor Holiš identifying this as one of his top priorities.
