At SPŠOA in Bruntál, as part of the TPA Project – Innovation Center for Education Transformation (CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000072), an inspirational talk was held with Ms. Irena Šašková, manager and organizer of this year’s Ice Hockey World Championship. The session provided students with valuable insights into the behind-the-scenes organization of one of the world’s most prestigious sporting tournaments.
Organizing Major Events: A Challenge and Inspiration
Ms. Šašková introduced students to the entire preparation process, starting with meeting the requirements to secure hosting rights and continuing with planning years in advance. She emphasized the importance of ensuring every detail runs smoothly—from infrastructure and logistics to media relations and spectator engagement. According to her, the key to success lies in building the right team and fostering effective collaboration among its members.
Practical Insights as Inspiration for Students
The talk not only delivered fascinating information but also served as practical inspiration for the future. Students appreciated Ms. Šašková’s personal experiences, which demonstrated that, despite the challenges, organizing such large-scale events can be incredibly rewarding. Meeting a professional from this field helped students understand the broad range of skills and meticulous preparation needed to successfully manage similar projects.
We thank Ms. Šašková for her inspirational visit and hope that her story will motivate our students to achieve their own professional goals.
