The European skills competition EuroSkills 2025, held this year in Herning, Denmark, welcomed over 700 competitors from 33 countries. The Czech Republic was proudly among them. For the first time, the Czech team also included participants trained by the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy — and they represented with distinction.
Excellent Representation of the Czech Republic and Our Region
David Firla and Kryštof Skokan from the Secondary Technical School in Havířov, who competed in the category “Entrepreneurship”, achieved an impressive 9th place in Europe in a highly competitive field. Although they did not reach the podium this time, their result is extraordinary — especially considering that this was the very first participation of the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy as the professional guarantor of contestant preparation for this prestigious event.
Their success is backed by hundreds of hours of preparation, training, and consultation. Their commitment, responsibility, and professional approach serve as an inspiration to other young talents across disciplines.
Delegation from the Moravian-Silesian Region On-Site
The significance of the event was further emphasized by the presence of an official delegation from the Moravian-Silesian Region, led by Deputy Governor Jan Veřmiřovský. Alongside him, the competition was also attended by representatives of regional secondary schools, education sector leaders, and of course, the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy, represented by its CEO, Jan Meca.
Meca commented on the participation:
Thanks to this experience, new opportunities are opening up for the development of the EduBox program, international cooperation, and further professionalization of student preparation for the future labor market.
