Innovation in secondary vocational education is advancing in practice. Since the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year, the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy has launched a new system for loaning physical teaching aids for vocational education. The goal is to support teaching quality, increase access to modern equipment, and at the same time reduce the burden on schools and their founders.
First Loan: Robotino in Havířov
A symbolic start to this new educational model was the first official loan of a mobile robotics teaching aid – Robotino, received by teacher Mr. Urban from the Secondary Technical School in Havířov. At this school, robotic technologies play a key role in instruction, and Robotino will serve students as a hands-on tool for developing skills in programming, sensor systems, and automation.
What Can Be Borrowed?
The loan system operates via a simple reservation platform, where schools can choose from a variety of modern devices across different areas of education. Currently available:
- 3D Scanner
- Rear headlight from Renault Scenic E-Tech
- Renault Scenic E-Tech and Dacia Spring (electric vehicles for educational use)
- Pneumatic system
- Robotino – mobile robotics
These devices are part of individual EduBoxes – educational modules that combine online content, practical assignments, and physical tools.
Benefits of the New Model
The loan system offers several key advantages:
- Lower costs for founders: Schools don’t need to purchase expensive equipment that may only be used occasionally.
- Secure distribution and administration: Equipment is centrally managed by MTA and distributed to schools as needed.
- Easy integration into teaching: Each EduBox comes with ready-to-use educational materials and teaching methodology, including teacher training.
- Flexibility: Schools can respond to current needs and teach modern technologies when they are most relevant to their students.
Teaching That Reflects the Job Market
Thanks to this service, teaching becomes not only more efficient but also better aligned with the real needs of the labor market. Physical teaching aids, combined with high-quality educational content, allow schools to prepare students for a future that is technological, interconnected, and constantly evolving.
