Today, Ostrava hosted the regional round of the CzechSkills 2026 competition in the Entrepreneurship Supportcategory. This event, aimed at identifying and supporting young talents with a passion for business, brought together over 20 contestants from various secondary schools across the Moravian-Silesian Region at the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre (MSIC).

The Challenge: Healthy Eating Under Time Pressure

The competition topic was drawn by the expert jury right after the opening session – this year’s challenge was: “Healthy eating under time pressure.” Eight teams had five intensive hours to develop a realistic business concept addressing the modern needs of society, lifestyle trends, and health-conscious choices.

In addition to working on their projects, the students had to demonstrate the ability to present their ideas, justify their sustainability, and convince the jury of their feasibility. The evaluation criteria included originality and innovation, market relevance, social impact, and the team’s ability to collaborate effectively.

Winning Team: An App for Healthy Corporate Catering

First place went to Adam Čech and Patrik Richter from the Kratochvílova Secondary Technical School in Ostrava, who impressed the jury with their project — a mobile app for healthy food delivery to companies. Their “fast healthy food” concept, tailored to the corporate environment, was well-thought-out, practical, and professionally presented.

Second Place: A Healthy Bistro for Everyone

Second place was awarded to Amálie Machů from Zengrovka School and Klára Gattyanová from the Vítkovice Secondary School, who jointly developed the concept of a “Healthy Bistro” — a business focused on providing healthy, affordable food for the general public, with a strong emphasis on community impact.

On the Way to the National Finals

The best-performing teams earned a place in the CzechSkills national round, scheduled for spring 2026. From there, the winners will qualify for EuroSkills 2027, where they will represent the Czech Republic on the international stage.

CzechSkills: A Competition That Matters

CzechSkills bridges education and real-world practice, giving young people the opportunity to tackle real challenges and develop their business ideas. The regional round in Ostrava clearly demonstrated that entrepreneurship has strong roots in the Moravian-Silesian Region — and that young people are ready to create, collaborate, and work toward a better world.

Congratulations to all the contestants, and thanks to all partners and jury members — we look forward to the next round!
