On January 9, 2026, right at the beginning of the new year, we visited the Secondary School of Crafts in Frýdek-Místek to introduce both students and teachers to one of the key thematic directions in vocational education – cybersecurity.
The expert workshop was led by Jaroslav Rubišar, an experienced teacher from the Gymnázium and Business Academy in Orlová and a member of our team at the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy.
EduBox, TryHackMe, and Real-World Threats
The first part of the program focused on students. They were introduced to the EduBox Cybersecurity module, which combines hands-on tasks, real-world scenarios, and the gamified environment of the TryHackMe platform.
During the session, students learned how easy it can be to become the target of a cyberattack — whether through weak passwords, unsecured devices, or carelessness when installing software. The discussion covered device security, basic rules of safe online behavior, and why cybersecurity education is crucial — not only for future IT professionals, but for everyone.
Support for Schools and Teachers
The second part of the session was dedicated to the teaching staff. We presented:
- The opportunities for using EduBoxes in cybersecurity education,
- The benefits of modular content across different fields (from IT to technical or service professions),
- An offering of training, workshops, and individual consultations that the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy provides to schools.
The discussion revealed a growing demand for practical and up-to-date topics that respond to the real needs of the labor market. This aligns directly with our vision — to bring innovations and tools into schools that have a tangible impact on the employability of graduates.
Why Does This Matter?
Cybersecurity is no longer the domain of IT experts only. It affects every one of us – from manufacturing companies and schools to households. And it is schools that play a critical role in preparing the next generation to face digital threats of the future.
We thank the Secondary School of Crafts Frýdek-Místek for their openness and cooperation. We look forward to more events like this that help modernize vocational education in practice.
