On November 19–21, 2024, the prestigious BaTT Forum took place in the Portuguese city of Palmela, focusing on educating technical field teachers in modern energy topics. A representative from the EduBox Future Mobility team attended and gained valuable experience from the Stationary Battery Storage (BESS) course, part of the CaBatt program, funded by Erasmus+.

Hands-On Experience Directly from the Industry

One of the key highlights of the program was a visit to Exide Technologies, a leader in the production of batteries for stationary storage and electric vehicles. Participants had the unique opportunity to observe the entire manufacturing process of these crucial components for the future of energy—from development to the final product. Additionally, they attended lectures by leading Portuguese companies in the field, offering detailed insights into current trends and technologies.

Workshops Focused on the Future

Interactive workshops were held at the ATEC Technical School in Palmela, focusing on electromobility (EV) and photovoltaic power plants—technologies set to play a pivotal role in the transition to sustainable energy. These practical activities not only expanded participants’ knowledge but also allowed them to try out specific methods and approaches they can incorporate into their own educational programs.

Cultural Dimension and Inspiration

The program was enriched by a visit to a technical museum and a tour of Lisbon’s city center, adding a cultural and social dimension to the event. Participants had the opportunity to combine professional development with an exploration of Portugal’s rich history.

Advancing Technical Education

Participation in the BaTT Forum provided valuable insights and practical experiences that will be utilized in the development and implementation of EduBoxes focused on energy topics. This event highlighted that connecting education with industry and modern technologies is key to preparing a new generation of professionals for future challenges.

We thank the organizers and look forward to more opportunities for growth and collaboration!
