On December 16, 2024, the Secondary School of Teleinformatics hosted a project day titled “Our Companies,” offering students a unique opportunity to delve into the world of entrepreneurship. The event, led by mentors from the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA), focused on developing entrepreneurial thinking, teamwork, and strategic decision-making.
How Did the Project Work?
Students were divided into five teams, with each team tasked with creating and developing its own business plan. Based on pre-established rules, the teams independently decided which areas of their companies to invest in.
Mentors from MTA provided teams with expert advice and tips on how to plan investments effectively and strategically grow their businesses. The project was conducted as a simulation game divided into ten rounds, with each round presenting a special challenge. Teams could use these challenges to gain a competitive advantage, adding dynamism to the game and encouraging creative solutions.
Final Presentations and Selection of the Best Team
At the end of the day, a final presentation session was held, during which teams showcased their business plans and pitched them to hypothetical investors. This moment provided students with the opportunity to enhance their presentation skills and demonstrate what they had accomplished throughout the day.
The event culminated in a vote for the best business plan, with all teams participating. This step further motivated the participants and fostered an atmosphere of friendly competition.
Developing Skills for the Future
The “Our Companies” project gave students insight into the entrepreneurial process—from making investment decisions to tackling challenges and effectively presenting their results. With the support of MTA mentors, students gained fundamental skills in strategic thinking, teamwork, and a valuable understanding of how real-world business environments operate.
The event not only equipped students with new skills but also inspired and motivated them to think creatively and explore new ideas. We thank all participants and look forward to more such engaging projects in the future!
