On November 22–23, 2024, the national round of the CzechSkills competition took place at the Brno Exhibition Center. The Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy served as the guarantor for the Entrepreneurship Support category, which featured five qualified teams. All teams worked on entrepreneurial ideas tailored to seniors. The winner of these inspiring projects will qualify for the prestigious EuroSkills 2025 international competition, to be held in Denmark.
Challenge: Tailored Service for Seniors
The President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, Zdeněk Zajíček, announced the theme: Tailored Service for Seniors (Age Management). The task required participants to design an innovative service aimed at helping individuals aged 60+ maintain an active lifestyle and support their integration into society—whether physically or digitally. Evaluation criteria included inclusivity, accessibility, feasibility, and the impact on seniors’ quality of life.
The five pairs of participants, who qualified through regional rounds, spent Friday immersed in intensive work on their entrepreneurial projects. Their submissions reflected creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of the needs of the older generation.

CzechSkills: Where Ideas for the Future Are Born
CzechSkills 2024 was not just about the entrepreneurial competition. The Brno Exhibition Center also hosted other categories reflecting a wide range of professional skills. Standout disciplines included engineering and Industry 4.0, which showcased technological innovations and modern approaches to industrial production. Artistic competitions in areas such as painting and woodworking highlighted precision craftsmanship and creativity.
The program also featured competitions in electrical engineering, locksmithing, and other technical fields, bringing dynamism, diversity, and showcasing the breadth of talent among Czech students and young professionals.
This event once again demonstrated that the younger generation is capable of coming up with ideas that have a real impact on society. The winners are now preparing for EuroSkills 2025 in Denmark, where they will represent the Czech Republic. We wish them the best of luck!
