Another in the series of expert meetings organized by the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA) took place at the premises of Schaeffler, this time focusing on Future Mobility. The roundtable brought together representatives of companies, schools, and public administration, all sharing a common goal: to innovate technical education in line with the real needs of the labor market.

Opening Remarks and Regional Perspective

The event was opened by Jan Veřmiřovský, Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between schools, companies, and institutions. He was followed by Jan Meca, Chairman of the MTA Board, who outlined the framework for innovation in technical education—particularly through the EduBox platform.

Schaeffler: A Technological Leader and Educational Partner

A special guest of the roundtable was Jiří Linhart, Director of Schaeffler’s Ostrava branch, who introduced not only the company’s global operations but also its philosophy and current workforce needs. As a leading global manufacturer of automotive and industrial components, Schaeffler actively contributes to the development of future technicians and engineers.

EduBox Future Mobility in Action

A key part of the program was the presentation by Martin Kavan, head of the Future Mobility team, who walked participants through the contents of the EduBox—covering topic overviews, lesson structure, and specific learning challenges designed to help students understand the principles of electromobility. Special focus was given to the headlight module and practical workshops, which have made notable progress in recent months.

The program also featured a demonstration of augmented reality, offering students a unique experience that blends theory with practice. Real-world teaching tools, such as the Dacia Spring electric vehicle, available to schools through the EduBox program, were also on display.

Engaging More Industry Partners

The roundtable included contributions from other key partners, such as Mr. Krenstetter from HELLA Forvia, who are actively involved in the development and content creation of EduBoxes. The discussion clearly demonstrated that cross-sector collaboration leads to tangible results and improves the quality of vocational training.

Behind-the-Scenes Technology Tour

The event concluded with a guided tour of Schaeffler’s development laboratories and production facilities, offering attendees a firsthand look at the advanced technologies and environment where components for leading automakers around the world are developed.

The Future Mobility Roundtable once again confirmed that education based on collaboration and knowledge sharingholds immense potential. We thank all partners for their participation and look forward to further steps toward modern, hands-on vocational education in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
