On October 4, 2024, a meeting took place in Ostrava-Hrabová between the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA) and VITESCO Technologies, focusing on potential collaboration opportunities. Representatives from VITESCO Technologies introduced the company and its sensor systems for the automotive industry, as well as the recent merger with SCHAEFFLER. Participants were given a tour of the company’s working spaces, including its testing laboratories. The concluding discussion focused on possible avenues for cooperation, such as the EduBox project, which aims to enhance technical education and student involvement in real-world practice.

During the meeting, Mr. Linhart, Head of the Ostrava Global R&D Competence Center at VITESCO Technologies, presented the company’s operations and products, which specialize in developing sensor systems for the automotive industry. These systems are widely used by leading car manufacturers around the world.

Mr. Linhart also provided details on the merger with SCHAEFFLER, a move that significantly strengthened the combined companies’ market presence. Together, they now employ more than 13,000 people in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with up to 80% of them holding higher education qualifications. This reflects the high demand for skilled employees and highlights the company’s interest in collaborating with students from technical fields. VITESCO places great emphasis on fostering young talent and seeks ways to integrate them into its structure.

The excursion gave participants a glimpse into unique work environments, such as the anechoic chamber and the testing laboratory, where sensors are tested under extreme conditions. The introduction of accelerators, key components for the automotive industry that VITESCO develops, was also a highlight.

The final part of the meeting centered around discussions on future collaboration between MTA and VITESCO Technologies, particularly through the EduBox project. VITESCO sees significant potential in joint activities and innovations that could contribute to the development of technical education and offer students valuable hands-on experience.

The representatives from MTA expressed their sincere gratitude for the meeting and tour and are looking forward to future cooperation with VITESCO Technologies.
