EduBox Tour 2025 III: Inspiration from Uherský Brod

P1500210 | EduBox Tour 2025 III: Inspiration from Uherský Brod

The third stop of the EduBox Tour 2025 took us last week to an exceptionally inspiring place – the Secondary Industrial School and Business Academy in Uherský Brod. But this visit was about more than just presenting educational tools or showcasing projects by the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy (MTA). It offered a deeper insight into a school philosophy that has been systematically and successfully evolving over the past 15 years. A total of 13 experts from the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions took part in the event.

A School with a Vision: “More Than a School”

SPŠOA Uherský Brod is more than an educational institution – it’s a place where mottos turn into real values. With 754 students and over a hundred staff members, the school builds its strategy on strong partnerships with industry, an open approach to community engagement, and a meaningful sense of responsibility for the region.

Fifteen years ago, the idea to build a Hi-Tech center was born here. The region and local companies began to listen to each other and created a space for technical education that reflects the needs of the future. Today, more than 30 companies operate in the school’s vicinity, and the school has become a key hub of collaboration.

Corporate Students: A Personal Path with Real Commitment

One of the essential pillars of the school’s model is the “corporate student” system. This concept is now utilized by dozens of companies throughout the region. Students sign contracts with employers, deepening their sense of responsibility and strengthening their connection to their chosen field. While some companies run their own schools, SPŠOA Uherský Brod proves that quality and a proactive approach can attract even the most demanding partners.

School Motto: Don’t worry, study happy

The school fosters a motivating and supportive environment that encourages not only professional growth but also personal development. Every activity – from lessons to sports courses or school performances – is seen as part of the students’ education and character building.

A School at the Heart of the Community

There’s no “lights out” after classes. The school serves as a hub for educational and community activities – organizing summer camps, running a university of the third age, a youth academy, and bringing preschool children into technical workshops.

Involvement in MTA Activities

SPŠOA Uherský Brod is actively engaged in the activities of the Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy. A recent workshop focused on the use of artificial intelligence in education, and the school has expressed interest in further collaboration – including the development of EduBoxes focused on technical and vocational subjects.

A True Source of Inspiration

The visit to Uherský Brod was not just a stop on the EduBox Tour – it was a true source of inspiration for what technical education can look like when it’s connected to real-world practice, human-centered learning, and regional responsibility.

We thank all participants for the warm welcome and look forward to future joint projects!
